Some of these idols for example Cheng Xiao Mei Qi and Xuanyi from Cosmic Girls Yan An from Pentagon and Handong from Dreamcatcher are or were in China for various reasons mainly because of participation in TV Shows and the lockdown situation of 2020. Yan An and Handong are as of October 2020 back in South Korea.

The Global Times reported that major Korean media outlets had published articles with titles stating China is overreacting and Chinas media incite public opinion.
